Department Mission

To manage the inventory and valuation of taxable parcels of all real property (tangibles); land, buildings and personal property held by businesses within the Township. The office operates under:

  • The General Property Tax Act (P.A. 206 of 1893)
  • Michigan Compiled Laws 211.1 through 211.157

Field Assessment Notice

Clayton Township Assessors conduct periodic field evaluations of properties. Assessors carry photo IDs identifying them as Clayton Township representatives.
